• Is this is only for Louisiana?

No! It started in Louisiana, but it’s growing to including other parts of the U.S. The project relies on a network of Community Partners to help identify the needs of local communities.

  • I've submitted a joy narrative, how long until it's on the map?

We usually get things up pretty quickly, but sometimes there’s a delay (we’re a small team and we get busy). If you’re curious, please always feel free to reach out through the “Contact Us” form.

  • Is this project run by trans folks?

Yes, totally. Everyone on the core team is trans and/or gender nonconforming. We’re committed to keeping this trans / gender nonconforming-run.

  • I don't identify as trans how inclusive is this?

There are so many ways to be in this world, and we welcome participation from trans, nonbinary, genderqueer, gender nonconforming, two spirit, and all other non-cis identities. Terminology changes fast as we find new and powerful ways to explore our identities. We use trans in the widest sense possible.

  • Why are you doing this?

Because it’s a hard time to be trans and gender nonconforming in this country. We don’t know what the future holds, so we know we need to lift each other up and spread joy as we can.

  • What is a Community Partner?

A community Partner is an organization (officially incorporated or not) that works directly with trans and gender nonconforming communities and that is willing to help the project come to a new location.

  • How can my organization become a Community Partner?

The first step is a conversation. Use the “Contact Us” forum to reach out and we’ll find a time to chat. We’ll discuss the goals and missions of the project and how we prioritize safety.

  • Does it cost money to be a Community Partner

No, definitely not. So many of us are just barely holding on. We’re not asking for money. Just partners to help us grow in an intentional and careful way.
